Montbell Torrent Flier Jacket
This Jacket is a Lightweight hard shell with 2-layer GORE-TEX Pac-lite PLUS that weighs 206 grams. I have used it on 2 multi-day hikes and several day-hikes. I think this jacket is a perfect compromise between weight, waterproofness and usability. The jacket has adjustment options in all the important places, large ventilation openings under the arms and a normal-sized hood, unlike climbing jackets where there is room for a helmet in the hood. It will be interesting to see how durable the outer fabric is after prolonged use with a backpack.
The OMM Halo Pants
These Pants are super lightweight only weighing 95 grams. They don’t have any features. They have a modest rating of a hydrostatic head of 10.000 mm and breathability of 10.000 mgsm/24hrs. From my experience, this means that the trousers are fairly waterproof and have reasonable breathability. Together with the Torrent Flier Jacket my rain gear only weighs around 300 grams and keeps my fairly dry even in heavy rain.
